I’m not sure if it is the wet, unseasonably warm weather, or the knowledge that our families are doing the things we usually do miles away, or the fact that it is so hard to find the things we associate with Christmas but it does not feel particularly Christmas-like here in Chicago.

I have spent all morning putting this tree together. Yes it is fake.
